Two England boxers will today go for gold in finals at the EUBC European Women’s Championships 2019 in Madrid after winning their semi-finals yesterday (Friday).
Demi-Jade Resztan was up first in her semi-final and edged to victory over Ukraine’s Hanna Okhota at 48kg.
The New Astley boxer was given the decision on a 3-2 split and now takes on Russian Iulia Chumgalakova in her final, which starts at 5pm UK time.
That was followed up by another superb success as Karriss Artingstall proved too strong for Bulgarian number one seed Stanimira Petrova.
The army boxer powered to a unanimous 5-0 win to ensure her final place and at least a silver medal.
She now takes on Italian Irma Testa in a bout that will begin at 5.45pm to 6pm UK time, depending on when medal ceremonies are held.
