The inaugural Great British Week of Sport launches today (19th September) and continues until Sunday 27th September – and your boxing club is invited to be part of it!

The nine-day campaign, coordinated by UK Active, is designed to celebrate the power that sport and activity has on our mental, physical and social well-being, using the hashtag #BeActive.

Through participating clubs and organisations, it also helps to encourage new people into a range of activities and help sport fight back after recent enforced closures because of the Coronavirus Pandemic.

The week will benefit from widespread media and social media coverage, with sector-wide support helping to ensure sport is thrust into the spotlight, particularly on Wednesday 23rd September’s National Fitness Day.

During the week, each day will align to a specific theme, but the week is for everyone, regardless of age, background or fitness level.

Through a mixture of virtual and physical initiatives from grassroots to elite level, the Great British Week of Sport hope to unite and empower towards improving the health of Britain, and play a crucial role in the nation’s recovery after COVID-19.

Clubs are encouraged to offer an event or activity as part of the week – this doesn’t need to be new, it can be whatever you want it to be – from opening up a regular class to a free trial for new members, opening up an app for free, a virtual workout, or even attempting a world record.

A FREE digital marketing toolkit will also be available to make it easy to align with the week.

Registering your event is easy, and the Great British Week of Sport will help along the way to put on a fantastic event/activity to engage the public. Click here to find out more and register your involvement and feature on the activity finder.
