Semi-finalists and finalists from Juniors 2020 added to Roll of Honour

The England Boxing website’s Roll of Honour has now been updated so that boxers who reached the semi-finals of the England Boxing National Junior Championships 2020 before the onset of the Coronavirus Pandemic are now included.

The list normally only includes Championship winners and finalists at the respective weights, along with the clubs they represent.

However, with the boxers who progressed from the regional championships to reach the last four unable to box at the event scheduled for the Exhibition Centre, Liverpool on 28th and 29th March because of a National Lockdown, they have been recognised for their achievements in reaching that stage.

Boxers who progressed to straight finals have also been included.

“We would like to thank all the regions, clubs, officials, coaches and, of course, boxers for progressing the tournament to the semi-finals stage and it was heart-breaking for everyone that those who made it through did not get the chance to showcase their skills and fight for title medals and belts,” said Lynsey Lockey, England Boxing’s Competitions and Events Manager.

“As mentioned previously, we will be giving all boxers who reached this stage a medal to mark their achievements and they will be sent out once COVID-19 restrictions allow access to the building in which they are stored is permitted.”
