Birmingham 2022: Team England boxer know opponents as draw made

The draw for the boxing tournament at the Commonwealth Games has now been confirmed, with Team England’s boxers now knowing who they will face.
Bouts at the National Exhibition Centre will start from tomorrow (Friday 29th July).
More details on when the boxers will compete will be released in due course.
Women
Under 48kg – Margret Tembo (Zambia) v Demie-Jade Resztan (England) for a place in the last four
Under 50kg – Yetunde Egunjobi (Nigeria) v Savannah Stubley (England) for a place in the last four.
Under 57kg – Sameenah Toussaint (England) v Zoe Andrews (Wales) for a place in the last eight.
Under 60kg – Gemma Richardson (England) v Megan Reid (Scotland) for a place in the last eight.
Under 70kg – Jodie Wilkinson (England, pictured above) v Bolanie Shogbamu (Nigeria) for a place in the last eight.
Under 75kg – Omelia Sathoud (Ghana) v Kerry Davis (England) for a place in the last eight.
Men
Under 51kg – Kiaran MacDonald v Vidanalage Seneviratne (Sri Lanka) for a place in the last eight.
Under 57kg – Niall Farrell (England) gets a bye to last 16. He will eventually box either Zweli Dlamini (Swaziland) or Jude Gallagher (Northern Ireland).
Under 63kg – Joe Tyers (England) v Wasala Rajakunara (Sri Lanka) for a place in the last 16.
Under 71kg – Jessie Lartey (Ghana) v Harris Akbar (England, pictured below) for a place in the last eight.
Under 75kg – Lewis Richardson (England) v Haaris Khan (Wales) for a place in the 16.
Under 80kg – Innocent Ehwarieme (Nigeria) v Aaron Bowen (England) for a place in the last eight.
Under 92kg – Lewis Williams (England) v Nazeer Khan (Pakistan) for a place in the last eight.
Over 92kg – Delicious Orie (England) gets a bye to last eight. He will eventually box either Nigel Paul (Trinidad and Tobago) or Jean Otendy (Mauritius).
