What is your name and age?

My name is Joshua Jones and I’m 20-years-old.

Are you part of a club already and, if so, in what capacity (i.e. coach, boxer, judge etc..)?

I am part of the Small Heath ABC, also known as the Pat Benson Boxing Academy, where I’ve been boxing for 7 years.

How did you first get into boxing?

I first got into boxing by joining my local gym (Small Heath ABC). I started off in beginner sessions and step by step I got fitter, fast and stronger. I also developed other vital attributes such as discipline and determination.

What has been your favourite experience in boxing so far?

My favourite experience in boxing is the first day I ever came to the gym. It’s a day I’ll never forget and a huge moment that helped shape my life.

How excited are you to be working to help your local boxing community and what are you looking forward to the most?

I’m very excited to help grow the local boxing community. It would be good to share my knowledge of the sport and to show everyone all of the benefits that boxing has to offer.

What do you hope to get out of your apprenticeship?

I hope to gain experience and knowledge of amateur boxing, especially in the set up and running of events. I believe this will me to see boxing from another perspective.
