As of Monday 31st July 2023, England Boxing requires all doctors to be affiliated and wear their green England Boxing ID lanyard whenever supplying medical service to Boxing (this includes medicals or ringside assistance).

Doctors can become affiliated via The Vault membership system, and you can click here to view The Vault User Guide on Doctor Registration.

As a result, England Boxing is delighted to offer a boxing-specific medical course, aimed at medical doctors who are interested in becoming a ringside doctor with EB.

Ringside Doctor Course Level 1

This course is a requirement for medical doctors interested in becoming a ringside doctor with England Boxing.

It is required alongside adequate insurance cover, an in-date Basic Life Support certificate, training to FY2 level and above, together with an active GMC registration. It can also be attended by existing England Boxing doctors looking to refresh their skills, or as stand-alone CPD for interested medical doctors. It will gain you 10 CPD points.

It is a hybrid learning course consisting of 2 hours of remote video learning covering completing medicals for Boxers (the BCR1 form). This is followed by an 8-hour in-person course covering the ringside role, including live practical demonstrations.

The course will enable you, if successful at all elements, to begin the registration process with England Boxing.

After two or more shadowing sessions with registered England Boxing doctors, you can obtain an England Boxing green lanyard. This will enable you to carry out boxers’ medicals with clubs as well as the ringside role.
