Girl Power at three all-female boxing events coming up

Women and girls will take centre stage at a hat-trick of female-only boxing events over the next month.
Firstly, on Friday night (25th January), Queensberry Police ABC are staging an all-female night of amateur boxing called Girl Power.
The venue is the club’s base at the Jubilee Club, Trent Vale, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 6PZ.
Doors open at 7pm, with the boxing to start at around 8pm. Tickets, costing £10 each, can be purchased from the club or by calling Mark on 07788 108652.
Then, on Sunday, (27th January), the North West Women’s Warriors are hosting a training and sparring squad session at Hatton’s Gym, Market Street Hyde, SK14 1HE.
It will take place between 12noon and 3pm and is for Minors, Schools, Youth and Senior boxers – please make contact to check for specific timings. All participants must be registered with a club and should bring their medical card.
Tom Munday from England Boxing will be complete a 30-minute segment for the Youths and Senior Girls which has been run on England Talent days.
It will include mobility/strength/core training circuits, strength and power testing and feedback.
A coach (especially females) may come with the boxer and lend a hand and give use their help and support on the day, but there is a strict no parent rule.
All boxers will be expected to provide all relevant training kit, including 14oz/16oz sparring gloves, headguards, gumshields, bandages and skipping ropes.

Last but by no means least, an all-female gale of boxing called The Italian Job is to be held on Saturday 23rd February.
As the name suggests, it will pit talented amateurwomen and girls from Italy against their counterparts from around England.
It will take place at Berinsfield Boxing Gym, Fane Drive, Berinsfield, OX10 7LN, with the boxing starting at 2pm.
