National Development Championships 2024 – Eligibility, Locker Requirements and Venue Confirmation

As the England Boxing National Development Championships 2024 draws near, we want to offer clear information on participant eligibility, provide guidance on using the Locker system, and confirm the location for the semi-finals and finals.

Eligibility Clarification

As a reminder, the eligibility requirements for the National Development Championships 2024 are as follows:

  • Junior Male – Between 2-10 bouts upon entry
  • Junior Female – Between 2-7 bouts upon entry
  • Youth Male – Between 2-14 bouts upon entry
  • Youth Female – Between 2-10 bouts upon entry
  • Senior Male – Between 5-20 bouts upon entry
  • Senior Female – Between 2-14 upon entry

You are ineligible to enter the National Development Championships 2024 if you have previously participated in the National Amateur Championships or won the Senior Development Championships in 2022 or 2023.

As of 2024, you are ineligible to enter the Development Championships if you have won the Open Junior or Open Youth Championships in the same calendar year.

Skills Bout Clarification

As per the entry forms and England Boxing rulebook, ALL SKILLS BOUTS – irrespective of date – will now be counted as 0.5 bouts on all applications for ALL phases of the Development Championships.

The Locker Boxer Requirements

Please ensure the following items are up to date in the Locker in preparation for the National Development Championships 2024:

  • Profile picture uploaded showing only the boxer (passport style)
  • Have the digital BCR1 Red QR code ready on your device
  • To get a valid QR code you’ll need:
    • Current age verification uploaded
    • Current membership registered to an England Boxing club
    • No medical suspensions
    • Pregnancy Indemnity Form (if applicable)
  • Current, in-date medical covering the entire duration of the event (including a signed Declaration of Non-Pregnancy where applicable)
  • Declaration of all previous combat and EB bouts (with a copy of the paper BCR1 uploaded)

The Locker Coach Requirements

  • Profile picture uploaded showing only the coach (passport style)
  • Have the digital purple Coach Licence QR code ready on your device
  • To get a valid QR code you’ll need:
    • In-date First Aid certificate
    • In-date Safeguarding certificate
    • In-date DBS certificate
  • Your coach’s lanyard (to be worn at all times)

Venue Confirmation

England Boxing are delighted to announce that the National Development Championships will be held in Kettering this year.

Arena Sports Kettering will play host to the 2024 edition of the championships, which has provided a springboard for the likes of Team GB Olympic medallists Galal Yafai and Karriss Artingstall.

The semi-final and finals stages will be hosted by England Boxing over four boxing rings on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October.  The full address is Arena Sports Kettering, Thurston Drive, Kettering, NN15 6PB.
