The latest England Boxing Punch Like a Girl Course was completed last weekend. with 11 new female level coaches now qualified.
The course, which was funded by Active Cheshire and Merseyside Sport, also included equipment packs for the new coaches, to deliver female focused sessions within their club.
“From the course the biggest think I gained was confidence,” said one participant. “But I now know I’m not alone and I can do this, and well. I loved that we were all women together and we supported each other through it all.”
Attendees will also be supported with their development over the next 12 months. This includes opportunities to attend regional squad sessions, and the Female Coaches Community of Practice meetings.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to increase the female volunteer workforce, and the number of female participants within clubs,” said Merseyside and Cheshire Club Support Officer, Alex Vass. “The more opportunities we can create for female inclusion in the sport, the better.
“With the additional support offered over the next 12 months, there will be plenty of opportunities for the newly-qualified coaches to make a real impact within their clubs and communities.”
Active Cheshire have opened up this opportunity once again to any potential female coaches in Cheshire clubs who are looking to complete their level 1 qualification this season.
