Gearing up for Women’s Aspire Programme final training day of 2019
September 6, 2019 | by Matt Halfpenny
The third and final Women’s Aspire Programme training day will take place on Sunday 22nd September at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) in Sheffield.
The programme has been established to help develop and strengthen the standard and depth of women’s boxing across the country.
Those taking part have been chosen by their respective regions (up to 10 boxers each) by whatever criteria they saw fit, with best attendance, most improved, most potential and boxers not getting many bouts included as reasons for selection.
Previous successful sessions, featuring those from Minors to Elite level, have taken place in May and July (pictured above). This session will also see some newly-qualified Level 1 female coaches attend to assist on the day.
Those attending on this occasion are asked to arrive for Sunday’s session at 11.30am for a 12noon start, with a finish time of 5pm.
The address is the GB Boxing Gym, EIS, Coleridge Road, Sheffield, S9 5DA.
All boxers will need to have a medical in date and a 2019/2020 stamp in their card to confirm their registered for this season – failure to supply the BCR1 will result in the boxer being unable to take part in the day.
Each regional secretary has been sent all of the relevant information, which will be distributed to those selected from each region.
Lead coach on the day is Amanda Coulson, who can be contacted on 07710 097820 in the event of queries.
