England Boxing has issued details of how Club and individual memberships will operate for the closing months of this 2020-21 season and the new 2021-22 season, which begins on 1st June 2021.

These have been released following the government’s issuing of the roadmap for an exit to Covid-19 restrictions and the subsequent publishing of the Return to Boxing Framework, both which have made the path forward clearer.

“We are now in a position to start planning and rebuilding, with the aim to come back stronger and better and, at the outset, I would like to thank all those clubs who have supported their members and the sport during this testing period,” said Gethin Jenkins, England Boxing’s Chief Executive Officer.

“The Pandemic has affected us in ways we would have not even imagined or thought possible a year ago, and it is the support offered by so many that has helped many to get through this extremely difficult time.

“We should also take time to reflect on those we have lost during this period and remember the contribution they have made to the sport of boxing, their clubs and local communities.

“As amateur boxing in England re-emerges, we need to start planning for the year ahead, which includes a busy forthcoming season when both the rearranged National Championships for 2021 and the National Championships for 2022 will hopefully take place. That’s not to mention, the host of much-needed and eagerly-awaited club and regional bouts and shows.”

In order to recognise those who Clubs and Members who have joined during the 2020-21 season to date – and the fact that there has been limited opportunity to fully utilise that membership – England Boxing has factored that support into its thinking.

In deciding on the path forward, it also recognises the financial impact the Pandemic has been having across the country.

As a result, the following membership fees are to apply, which covers the period between now and the end of the 2021-season as well as the new 2021-22 season.

The publication of membership details at this point attempts to provide as much notice and clarity as possible, while the degree of financial support it provides hopes to help amateur boxing re-establish itself post Covid-19.
