It was another spectacularly successful final day on a superb weekend of boxing for the England Youth squad in the Demen Tournament in Germany.

Five wins from six bouts took the Three Lions’ total of triumphs across the three days to 27 from 31 bouts boxed, with 15 boxers having travelled to compete.

That run of success is an ideal confidence booster for the squad ahead of the European Youth Championships 2022, which begin in Sofia on 10th April.

Sunday’s final day saw one session boxed right through and it saw Maddie Gittins (St Paul’s Boxing Academy) open up with her third victory of the weekend.

Lauren Mackie (Burton Park) followed suit before Mikie Tallon (Lee Jones) suffered England’s only loss of the day but only by the closest of 3-2 split margins after an excellent showing.

The Three Lions won all of their final three bouts as Owen Ketley (Lionheart), Nelson Birchall (Sharpstyle) and Luke Turner (Phoenix Fire) did the business.
