Banbury to host Youths 2021 quarters, semis and finals – and entries now open!

The Spiceball Leisure Centre, Banbury will host the England Boxing National Youth Championships quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals, it can be confirmed – and entries for the competition are now open!
The Youth Development Championships 2021 semi-finals and finals (but not quarter-finals) will also be hosted at the same Oxfordshire venue.

Youth Championships
The Youth Championships are open to Youth Cadet (born in 2004) and Youth (born in 2003 or 2004).
Entry weights are from Under 40kg up to Over 91kg (males) and from Under 40kg up Over 81kg (females) in both categories. Entrants must have had two previous bouts on entry.
Closing dates for receiving entries are set by regional associations, but all regional entries must be with the Championship co-ordinator by close of play on 15th November 2021. Female entries, however, must be received by 1st November 2021.
The pre quarter-finals are to be completed by 21st November with East Midlands to box off against Midlands, Merseyside and Cheshire against Tyne, Tees and Wear and Western Counties against Eastern Counties.
Quarter-final bouts will take place on 26th November, semi-finals on 27th November and finals on 28th November, all at the Spiceball Leisure Centre, Banbury.
Youth Development Championships
The Youth Development Championships are open to boxers in Male 2-14 bouts and Female 2-10 bouts (both born 2003 or 2004).
Entry weights are from Under 40kg up to Over 91kg (males) and from Under 40kg up Over 81kg (females) in both categories. Entrants must have had two previous bouts on entry.
Closing dates for receiving entries are set by regional associations, but all regional entries must be with the Championship co-ordinator by close of play on 15th November 2021. Female entries, however, must be received by 1st November 2021.
The pre quarter-finals are to be completed by 14th November with East Midlands to box off against Midlands, Merseyside and Cheshire against Tyne, Tees and Wear and Western Counties against Eastern Counties.
Quarter-final bouts, to be completed by 21st November, will see North West boxers take on those from East Midlands / Midlands, Yorkshire paired with Merseyside and Cheshire / Tyne, Tees and Wear, Home Counties face Western Counties / Eastern Counties and Southern Counties and London go head to head.
The semi-finals will be held on 27th November and finals on 28th November, both at the Spiceball Leisure Centre, Banbury.

In all categories, a boxer’s BCR1 medical book must be produced at the initial weigh-in and at all subsequent rounds, and the boxer’s medical must be in date for the duration of the championship. All boxers must be members of England Boxing and an England Boxing-affiliated club.
It is advisable to only book accommodation for the semi-finals and finals stages of the competition if a refund can be claimed on cancellation. Otherwise, it is recommended to wait until that stage of the competition is reached before making a booking.
Boxers, coaches and clubs should note that participation is only permitted providing a signed waiver (as part of the form) regarding Covid-19 is completed.
Covid-19 procedures relating to the competition must also be followed and failure to do so could result in removal from the competition and disciplinary action.
England Boxing continues monitor and follow Government advice in regards to precautions and mitigations caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic and will update as directed once any additional advice is available.
