Brighton and Hove welcome Sussex Squad

Brighton and Hove ABC hosted the third Sussex squad of the season with 80 boxers turning up to gain valuable experience.

By attending the session athletes gained the potential for selection to box versus a Hampshire and Surrey team on 17 February 2018.

Headed up by Sussex Coach George Brown, the boxers were placed into weight categories with 10 Sussex coaches on hand to support.

“It was a great turnout and shows that the squads are going from strength-to-strength,” said Brown. “We are creating regular squads now and our Sussex boxers are benefitting as a result. It’s all about the boxers, so it’s brilliant to see the coaches all chipping in to help them develop. I can’t wait for the inter-county match up on 17th February 2018.”

The boxers used tech and conditioned sparring to help hone their skills under the expert tutelage of the team coaches.

Open spars were also held to add that competitive edge.
