Celebration time for Women’s Coach Development Programme graduates

The second cohort of the England Boxing Women’s Coach Development Programme (WCDP) held a graduation Day on Saturday (11th March) to celebrate its collective success.
All 12 coaches enrolled onto the year-long programme successfully passed, with each receiving a certificate and plaque to mark the achievement.
Participants and their mentors, as well as course leader Laura Sargeant and Lead National Coach Amanda Coulson, enjoyed a meal together at the venue, the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Sheffield.
The group also posed for a picture with the Crystal Palace women’s football team, who were staying at the same location prior to a 1-0 win over Sheffield United.
“I would like to thank all those who took part in this year’s WCDP for their efforts, both coaches on it and those who mentored them,” said Women and Girls Officer Laura Sargeant, who has run the programme.
“With each cohort of women which goes through the programme we are strengthening the female coaching structure across England, which can only help in making the sport more accessible to girls looking to take up the sport.”
Potential participants in the next (third) cohort of the Women’s Coach Development Programme are reminded they have until Friday to submit applications.
