Competition certificates to be issued in PDF format as part of bid to go green
April 13, 2022 | by Matt Halfpenny
Competition certificates will be supplied in an online PDF format only from National Amateur Championships Finals Day onwards, England Boxing can confirm.
Certificates will now be emailed to the recipient after the event has finished, which can then be printed off if so desired.
Champion belts and medals will, of course, still be presented on the day.
The decision has been taken as part of the national governing body’s bid to cut down material wastage and be more ecologically and environmentally conscious.
It is part of a raft of measures England Boxing has taken in recent weeks and months to reduce its carbon footprint, which also include:
- Moving course materials and resources online wherever possible
- Limiting fuel usage by moving courses online in cases where face-to-face participation is not essential
- Investing into digital solutions to reduce paper usage across the organisation
- Investing in sustainable/bio-degradable products for our events and activities.
England Boxing’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, Charlie Ford, said: “I am passionate about us all being environmentally friendly where we can, so it’s good to see these measures being introduced, enabling our organisation to do its bit.”
