Three boxers are preparing to represent England in the EUBC European Under-22 Championships 2022, which take place in Porec, Croatia next month.
Savannah Stubley (Empire), Olivia Holmes (Rotunda) and Sameenah Toussaint (New King’s) all won titles at the England Boxing National Amateur Championships 2021 in December.
They will box in the Under 50kg, Under 54kg and Under 57kg categories respectively.
The Euros will take place between Friday 11th March and Thursday 24th March, with preparations continuing between now and then.
As the three boxers are all still on the England Pathway, but being assessed by GB, England are joining GB in supporting them for this event.
That support has included sessions over the weekend with some of the England Talent coaches, led by Development Coach Amanda Coulson and Talent Pathway Coach Phil Knight.
Priory Park duo Mia Holland and Kelsey Oakley and their coaches attended to take part in gym bouts with the England trio, which were referee by Knight, while Clayton’s Paige Howarth and Steel City’s Ivy Jane Smith provided opportunities to spar.
Guest coach Shanice Kinkaid (Nottingham Phoenix) also came along to understand more about the England Talent coaching pathway.
“We would like to thank all those boxers who attended to help the preparations of our three boxers ahead of them flying out to Croatia, which has really helped,” said Coulson.
“We wish Savannah, Olivia and Sameenah all the best in pulling on the Three Lions vest.”
There will also be male boxers representing England in Porec, with those contenders to come from the existing GB squad and expected to be announced later this week.
