Entries welcomed for BUCS Championships 2023

The British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Boxing Championships 2023 is now welcoming entries for the tournament early in the New Year.

The event will take place at the Ravelin Sports Centre, University of Portsmouth from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th January 2023.

It is open to competitors at BUCS member institutions, and boxers wishing to enter must be registered with England Boxing or the National Governing Body of their Home Nation.

They must also possess a Boxer Competition Record book (BCR1), which details their competitive experience, to include any previous competitive experience from other combat sports.

All coaches must hold current qualifications and have in their possession the relevant NGB lanyard to prove they are in-date.

The weight categories are detailed below.

Male – Under 48kg, Under 51kg, Under 54kg, Under 57kg, Under 60kg, Under 63.5kg, Under 67kg, Under 71kg, Under 75kg, Under 80kg, Under 86kg, Under 92kg, Over 92kg.

Female – Under 48kg, Under 50kg, Under 52kg, Under 54kg, Under 57kg, Under 60kg, Under 63kg, Under 66kg, Under 70kg, Under 75kg, Under 81kg, Over 81kg.

Men – all weight categories include: Open Class (16+ bouts), Open (8-15 bouts) and Novice (0-7 bouts).

Women – all weight categories include: Open Class (11+ bouts), Open (6-10 bouts) and Novice (0-5 bouts).

The closing date for entries is Tuesday 10th January.
