The final Women’s Aspire session of 2022 was held in the Lions’ Den yesterday (Sunday 30th October), with 31 boxers from across the regions in attendance.

It focused on the phases before and after attacking, with a number of club and regional coaches also helping out.

As ever, boxers were chosen to take part for a variety of reasons – from being dedicated to their training to showing real promise – with each individual region making the selections.

The afternoon saw a clash of the European champions as winners at the Schools Europeans and Juniors Europeans, Rosanna Bycroft and Ruby White got in some sparring.

Another Schools Europeans medal winner, Ruby Cuthbertson, who claimed bronze, was also in attendance in Sheffield.

Lead National Coach, Amanda Coulson, said: “It was a fantastic session where, as well as the focus on the before and after attacking, there was also an introduction to video analysis.

“The budding boxers all gave 100 per cent, doing themselves and their clubs and regions proud. Well done to all.”
