Junior Open Talent Day set for April

England Boxing is hosting a Talent Open Day for Junior boxers on Sunday 5th April at Tamworth Boxing Gym.
Open Talent Days are designed to identify talented boxers that may not have been scouted during the national Championships. This could include two highly-rated boxers meeting in the early stages of the competition and others unable to enter due to injury.
Each boxer will be assessed on technical and tactical skills, using a rating system, and will receive feedback from the England Boxing coaches on the day.
Following the assessment, boxers who met the required assessment levels will be invited onto the England Talent Programme.
Registration is open until Monday 23rd March 2019.
Minimum entry criteria
Boxers must:
- Be a British citizen
- Be a member of an affiliated England Boxing club and registered on the Vault
- Hold a valid BCR1 (which will need to be produced on the day)
- All boxers need to be within 5% of their competition weight (All boxer will be weighed in on the day).
- Must be injury-free to attend the camp, as boxers will need to participate in all activities in order to be assessed.

Junior men additional criteria
- Born in 2004 or 2005
- Boxers between 52kg and 70kg have had a minimum of 15 bouts in the last 24 months
- For all other weights, the minimum is 10 bouts in the last 24 months
- Have a minimum win loss ratio of 70% or higher in the last 24 months
- Have entered the National Championships in 2019 or 2020.
Junior women additional criteria
- Born in 2004 or 2005
- Had a minimum of 2 bouts in the last 24 months
- Have a minimum win loss ratio of 20% or higher in the last 24 months
- Have entered the National Championships in 2019 or 2020.
