England Boxing National Amateur Championships (NACs) Finals Day will be staged at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle Upon Tyne, it can be confirmed.

The showpiece occasion will take place on Saturday 22nd April, with the venue having held the England Boxing National Schools Championships 2021 semi-finals and finals.

Finals Day last years was held at Manchester Central, where victors included Hamza Uddin, Shaun Huddart, Isaac Okoh, Cindy Ngamba, Sacha Hickey and Savannah Stubley.

The Tyne, Tees and Wear venue will provide another spectacular setting for the event that boasts Natasha Jonas, Carl Froch, Savannah Marshall, Tyson Fury, Nicola Adams and Anthony Joshua among its many illustrious past winners.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals of the NACs will be held at the Magna Science Adventure Centre, Rotherham – which hosted last year’s pre-quarter finals – on Saturday 15th April and Sunday 16th April.

The pre quarter-final venue, meanwhile, will be just down the road at another Yorkshire venue, Barnsley Metrodome, on Saturday 1st April.

“We’re delighted to be able to take NACs Finals Day to Newcastle after hosting a very successful Schools Championships there in 2019 using a Vertu Motors Arena venue that was very well received,” said Competitions and Events Manager, Mick Maguire.

“The way the venue is laid out makes for a superb atmosphere and is a fitting setting for the best amateur boxers in the country to battle it out for a coveted national title belt.

“It’s also fantastic to be going back to the Magna Science and Adventure Centre and Barnsley Metrodome for earlier rounds of the NACs because they are venues that we know very well and have been popular with boxers and spectators alike.”
