Recap of a Successful Northwest Region Squad Training Day

Love Amateur Boxing Club recently hosted the latest Northwest Squad Training Day in with an impressive turnout of over 200 people.

The successful event was overseen by Lead North West Coach, Alan Smith and Kerry Chalk who took on the role of Female Lead Coach for the first time. 

The day was organised into three sessions, each tailored to different groups within the boxing community. The first focused on female boxers, the second on the schools and juniors categories, and the third on youth and seniors. With three rings present at the club, every attendee had the opportunity to participate in at least three rounds of sparring which gave participants a chance to practice their skills and also created a lively atmosphere for those watching!

The primary aim of the session was to select a team of 22 boxers to represent the region at the Gripen Box Open in Sweden, view the full line-up below:

After an intense day of training and sparring, team captains for the 2024/25 season were also selected:

  • Senior: Alex McMillan – Jr Gum
