Boxers who win titles at the England Boxing National Schools Championships 2021 will be invited to an England Talent Schools Champions Day, it can be confirmed.
Three separate days have been organised for different categories of boxers at the start of the October half term holidays.
Winners will receive a formal invitation, in recognition for their success, to attend one of the following sessions at the City of Leicester Gym, LE2 8QS:
Saturday 23rd October – Class A Boys.
Sunday 24th October – Class B Boys.
Monday 25th October – Class A and B Girls.
All sessions will run from 10.30am to 4pm and it should be noted that these days apply only to the open class and not to cadet boxers.
The Champions Days will be led by the England Talent coaching team and will include a welcome, practical boxing training, including sparring, and educational elements.
England Development Coach Amanda Coulson said: “Although we are unable to offer Schools boxers the chance to formally be on the England Talent Pathway this year, because of the issues caused by Covid-19, we are delighted that we can provide this alternative opportunity.
“It will give National Schools Championship winners in open categories a taste of what it is like to be on the pathway and what it involves ahead of the expectation that the Talent Pathway will be back in place in full in 2022.”
Further information about the School Champions Day will be given to winning boxers at the England Boxing National Schools Championships.
Information for Junior and Youth National Championship winners will follow in due course.
