Five senior female boxers will represent England Performance at the XIX International Silesian Women’s Boxing Championships next month.

The all-female tournament returns to the Silesian Highlands of Gliwice in Poland, with the England Performance squad departing on the 1st of September and returning on the 8th.

This marks the second consecutive year that England has sent a team to the competition, following last year’s three-medal haul which included a bronze for Paris 2024 Olympian Chantelle Reid.

The 2024 team blends a mixture of international experience and debutants.

One of those boxers eager to represent England abroad is Grace Buckle of Miguel’s Gym: “I’m delighted to have been selected for Silesian as it is the first time I will be competing overseas, so I’m looking forward to gaining more international experience.

“Being selected to box for England is like a dream come true. Only a few are chosen so I feel really lucky.

“I am really excited about competing in Poland. The plan is to show what we’ve been working hard on in the gym.”

The squad of five will be supported at the competition by lead national coach Amanda Coulson and coaches Amanda Groarke and Q Shillingford, whilst Liam Harkin will be England’s referee and judge representative.
