Sturminster Newton are December’s Community Club Impact Recognition Programme winners

Sturminster Newton have been named as the winners of England Boxing’s Community Club Impact Recognition Programme for December, in association with STING.

The Western Counties club saw off the challenges of Trident Boxing (Leeds) and Brighton and Hove to land the final monthly award of 2022.

Their prize is a STING voucher which can be redeemed to purchase boxing equipment for members to use.

Sturminster Newton were chosen by a vote of England Boxing’s team of Club Support Officers for its forward-thinking development over recent years, both in the community and competitively (read more by clicking here).

England Boxing’s Club Support Officer for the Western Counties, Richard Powers, said: “The progress made by Sturminster since re-opening back in 2001 after a temporary closure has been tremendous and they have come a long, long way in order to make 2022 their most successful year yet.

“That is thanks to the hard work of so many people behind the scenes, and winning this recognition is just reward.”
