Three New Members Appointed to the England Boxing Board

The England Boxing Board welcomes new Non-Executive Directors, Paul Asare-Archer, Nathan Pearce and James Stebbing.
The role of the England Boxing Board is to supervise the management of the business of the organisation and to discharge the responsibilities of the directors under the Companies Act and in compliance with the Code for Sports Governance, which sets out the levels of transparency, accountability and financial integrity that are required from those bodies that receive Sport England and Government Funding.
Paul Asare-Archer
Paul is an award winning compliance director and has worked in the profession for over 20 years. Paul is currently the Chief Compliance Officer at Shawbrook bank and was previously the Director of Compliance at O2. Academically, Paul is a Law graduate from the University of Manchester and has an MBA from Westminster Business School.
Paul has a passion for Diversity & Inclusion, Social Mobility and Charitable causes. Paul equally has a passion for sport and sat on the audit committee for two years prior to joining the board.
Paul will also be chairing the Audit Sub-committee.
Nathan Pearce
Nathan grew up in the West Country and was a member of the Synwell Boxing Club before joining the Army serving 24 years. The majority of his career was as Physical Training Instructor, during his time in service he was a competitive triathlete representing GB as an age group athlete at 2 World Long Distance Championships. Nathan qualified to officiate in a diverse range of sports but enjoyed being an active boxing official but also an athletics official where he worked to support Army Athletics and Cross Country as the Officials Appointments Officer. He left the Army in 2009 to take the appointment of the Operations Manager of the Army Boxing Association and Army Swimming Union. Nathan served as the Secretary to the UK Armed Forces Boxing Association from 2012 – 2023.
In 2016, Nathan was successfully enrolled as a member of the Technical Rules and Officials Sub Committee, where he has been responsible for drafting and then maintaining the England Boxing Rule Book in its current format and assumed the position of Secretary on the committee in 2020.
Nathan is married to Kathryn has 4 children and 2 grandchildren, he is an avid sports fan and a keen cyclist.
He will chair the Championships Sub-committee.
James Stebbing
James Stebbing is an accomplished senior executive with a demonstrable track record of value creation in the Sports, Media and Entertainment industries. He holds an MBA, achieved postgraduate qualifications in Sports Law and Sports Governance, and trained and qualified as a lawyer at the leading Media & Entertainment law firm, Harbottle & Lewis, in London.
James has held director, executive, and senior leadership positions at Six Nations Rugby, the British & Irish Lions, and the Rugby Football Union, and has vast experience of complex commercial, sporting, and regulatory matters.
Prior to working in the Sports industry, he gained legal, operational, and business affairs experience at the global head offices of FTSE 100 organisations Vodafone and Barclays.
James boxed at university and has always had a deep-rooted interest in the sport and an appreciation of its values. He lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and two young daughters and is passionate about the power of Sport to inspire and transform lives.
