Trowbridge ABC boxer Harry Glover has given something back to his community during the current lockdown by completing the David Goggins Challenge and helping to raise more than £2,000.

The 18-year-old multiple Western Counties champion teamed up with friend and professional boxer Ryan Wheeler for the event – that sees runners cover four miles every four hours for 48 hours.

They completed their bid last Sunday (7th March) and between them they have raised the four-figure sum for the Dorothy House Hospice Care charity, which provides compassionate care and support for those in the Bath and North East Somerset area with life-limiting illnesses.

Glover, who has been boxing for around 10 years, was a student on the DiSE programme at SGS College and is also a volunteer coach with the development group said: “When we spontaneously decided to take on the challenge, we thought it would be a good opportunity to raise money for charity.

“I have experienced the hard work Dorothy House put in first hand when they supported my Nan in her final days.

“We’re pleased to have raised so much money, but hopefully we can go on to raise a bit more because it is a very worthy cause.
