Kenton ABC boxing coach Beau Pape has won Sport Newcastle’s Unsung Hero Award.

The 18-year-old was given the accolade for the time she has spent running community session for children aged five to 10.

Beau has previously been a DiSE programme student at Gateshead College, where she completed her coaching course.

As a boxer at Kenton ABC, she was an England Boxing National Junior Development champion in 2019 (pictured below), as well as being an NABGA finalist, MTK Box Cup champion and a silver medal winner at the England Boxing Women’s Winter Box Cup.

She is now concentrating on her personal training and coaching career, running boxing and fitness classes from the Kenton ABC gym.

“Beau has made an amazing difference to the kids around here, giving the younger ones a niche to attend the gym and learn about fitness, nutrition and their general wellbeing.” said Kenton ABC Coach Steve Cranston.

The award ceremony, where Beau received her prize was held at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle, the recent venue for the England Boxing National Schools Championships 2021.
