Further to our notice on February 10th 2025 (see article HERE) we would like to remind and update our members on several key issues as we approach the start of the 2025/26 boxing season:

  1. Level 2 Head Coach: As of June 1st 2025, all clubs will be required to have a licensed Level 2 Coach listed as their Head Coach on The Locker. For clarity, from June 1st 2025, clubs without a Level 2 Coach will no longer be able to compete or complete their annual membership without a Level 2 Coach who is qualified, registered and licensed on the Locker with the assigned role of ‘Club Head Coach’.
  2. Club Health Check: As of October 1st 2025, any club that has not yet received a ‘Club Health Check’ certification from their Club Support Officer will be unable to compete or complete their annual membership. This deadline has been extended to support clubs and enable them to receive the visits that they require. If your club has not yet had a ‘Club Health Check’, please contact your Regional CSO as soon as possible to schedule a visit and avoid disappointment. Clubs should also please ensure that they have updated their Club profiles on the Locker to include the role of “Club Welfare Officer”.
  3. Boxers require a valid membership, age-verification and pregnancy indemnity form: As of June 1st 2025, boxers must complete all required prerequisites before medical examinations can be recorded:
  • Valid membership
  • Age verification
  • Pregnancy indemnity form (females only)

The system will no longer allow medical exams to be recorded without these prerequisites. Boxers must complete these requirements in advance to avoid issues with medical examination.

As part of England Boxing’s key strategic goal to better support clubs and help them to access greater opportunities for funding and development, several aspects of club governance will need to be uploaded to the ‘Club Documentation’ section of your Club Locker Profile. This includes a copy of your ‘Club Child Protection Policy‘, Club Constitution, evidence of a club bank account, and a defibrillator in-line with the Gym Inspection Checklist.

Almost 600 clubs have already had their club profiles updated following a Club Health Check from their CSO, and we look forward to all remaining clubs being in the same secure and sustainable position by October later this year.

Club coaches in need of a Level 2 qualification can book onto any of the upcoming courses across the country by logging onto the Locker and registering to secure their place. The following courses are ready and available for you to book as needed with further dates to be announced soon:
