West Midlands ballot for Birmingham 2022 CWG tickets opens from 14th July

Those who live in the West Midlands can get access to a ballot for Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games tickets from Wednesday (14th July) – with nine days of boxing packed into the schedule.

The multi-national, multi-sport event comes to England’s second city next July and August, running from Thursday 28th July to Monday 8th August.

At the last Commonwealth Games, Gold Coast 2018, England’s boxers took a total of six gold, one silver and two bronze medals – a record haul – and will be looking to impress again on home turf.

The Three Lions’ quest will take place across 20 sessions of boxing, with three medal sessions, with the action taking place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC).

The West Midlands ballot will run from 14th July until 30th July, with tickets starting at £8 for Under 16s and £15 for adults.People can set up a ticketing account for either ballot right now to ensure a head start on applying for tickets.

The main ballot for tickets will open in September, with tickets only available through Birmingham2022.com.

Volunteering – the Commonwealth Collective

The search for volunteers was launched in June, but more people are being encouraged to apply over the next few weeks, ahead of announcing a deadline for applications next month.

A total of 13,000 volunteers are needed to join the Commonwealth Collective, who will be the heart and soul of the Games experience for athletes, officials, spectators and the media.
