The Joe Gallagher Academy camp out in Barcelona was brilliant. The camp lasted five days, with the students flying out on Sunday 12th May and returning on Friday 17th May.

During the camp, the students where subjected to three training sessions a day, which challenged them both physically and mentally.

Along with the excellent training opportunities, the students where provided with educational tours of the city and the local football stadium, the Nou Camp.

Training featured 6.30am starts each day and included running, strength and conditioning sessions, boxing sessions and also a session no the beach.

The morning runs consisted of either steady along the promenade or sprint sessions on the beach. Both the boxing training and strength and conditioning sessions took place at the Entrena en Barcelona Boxing Club, located in the business district of the city.

All the boxers attending the camp did a superb job in representing the Academy, their clubs and England Boxing.

It has to be noted that although this was an Academy trip, this trip would not have been possible without the efforts of Joe Gallagher himself, who not only made the contacts out in Barcelona, but personally funded the whole project.

The Joe Gallagher Academy launch in September 2018 and has grown from strength to strength due to Joe’s enthusiastic support of grass roots of boxing.

The academy is great opportunity for aspiring boxers to gain vital educational qualifications and develop their sporting attributes.

For those interested in joining, The Academy is holding an open day on Saturday 29th June., June the 29th. To come along, register online via
